29 Jul The DRS2026 Inclusive Design Forum Presents the “Wang Zengwei” Award
The Inclusive Design Forum was successfully held this past June at the DRS2026 conference in Edinburgh. The full-day forum featured 19 papers selected from 51 submissions, organized into four sessions. These sessions were chaired by Professor Dong Hua of the Royal College of Art; Dr. Abdusselam Selami Cifter and Dr. Ning Weining of Brunel University; Dr. Stella Boess of Delft University of Technology; and Dr. Dong Yumei of Jiangnan University. Forum topics covered new interpretations of inclusive design, healthy aging, research methods for neurodiverse populations, and accessibility and testing. The forum presented the “Wang Zengwei Award” and the “Julia Cassim Award” to recognize outstanding papers and honor educators who have made outstanding contributions to accessible design and inclusive design education in various countries

Dong Yumei, a member of the Inclusive Design Research Center, delivered an excellent presentation titled “Designing for Active Aging” at the forum.

Professor Dong Hua, founder of the Inclusive Design Research Center, was elected president of the Design Research Society (DRS) at the DRS2026 conference, becoming the first Chinese president in the 60-year history of the DRS, the oldest design research society.
